Disqualifying the Positive.
You reject positive experiences by insisting they "don't count" for some reason or another. In this way you maintain a negative belief that is contradicted by your everyday experiences. For instance, you don't believe a compliment because you think it is said just to be nice. You discount what positive someone says because you "know" they really don't know all the "facts." You think they have "ulterior" motives. That something might be true for others, but not you.
