Hello all,
----------------
If you have not read this article then I think you should at least try and skim it or read it completely..
I only have 4 posts, not ten so I cannot link the article.
I will give the google keywords though.
"chemical imbalance in mental health"
you will find an 11 page article written by dr joseph carver on the mental health matters website.
-----------------
Without waffling too much I will describe a big part of my way of thinking that I need to link a mental condition to if possible.....
I believe that, like many people, I have multiple mental issues.
I am going to make sure my doctor refers me to a psychologist this time, as he palmed me off last time with a "not listening" syndrome of his own lol. Maybe he has add????? lol. I do get the feeling that a lot of scientists have add, its probably the only way to learn lol.
Anyway, my biggest issue is the way I approach/deal with issues as well as how I handle an issue. I believe either generalised or social anxiety disorders/avoidant personality disorder etc blah blah plus a bit of ADD mainly inattentive/tiny bit of hyperactivity, maybe even bit of bipolar.
To be honest I think if neurotransmitters/body nutrition/fitness are out of sync, then anything can go wrong, right????????
I will elaborate further.
1) For me, as ANY particular situation becomes more out of control or harder or requires more thought/more delicacy applied to it, ie much more diplomacy or negotiation life or death etc. even trying not to laugh at something when its inappropriate, then the end result is usually that I just can't handle it and I become very very tense/stressed and want to teleport myself away. I literally just want to squirm/crawl away because I can't deal with it other than angrily and losing my cool, especially if I feel that I am dissed or contradicted.
Part of me thinks "hang on, just calm down and be systematic" but try telling that to yourself.....................
2) In the case of long term situations, like trying to deal with big debts/creditors etc, writing letters (even though I am a whizz at computing and letter writing ) the procrastination (defined by wikipedia) really does fit me to a tee, and I take hours/days maybe to do something which should be a 2 hours or less job. It constantly stresses me. In fact I get to a point where I need to lie down as maybe my stress/worry/anxiety burns my serotonin up pointlesssly.......?
3) I can sit on a settee for 5 hours and watch telly even though I don't like the average crappy, dramatic, skewed opinion, subject matter.
4) When I get a bee in my bonnet, I can really lose the plot mentally and become erratic, random, but without any violence, except verbal assault, although part of me is not tough enough to carry on in case of consequences, so I do seem to know when to shut up........
I seem to fit a lot of criteria in a lot of these links. which is why I am now really pushing the doctor to refer me for psychology exam etc.
Please forgive the wiki links but I consider wiki a good place to start. The editors there do try and battle each other so as to get a respectable opinion behind their theories/credible peer reviewed data-based articles.
I did waffle in the end lol......
Look on wiki for the following:
Deferred gratification
Sluggish cognitive tempo
sleep apnea/hypopnea
working memory
Procrastination
Google for Reverse dopamine causing symptoms of adhd but not curable with stimulants...... on this site psychcentral as well......)
ADD predominantly inattentive (mainly inattentive in uk diagnostics)
Auditory processing disorder
Cluttering - interesting this one, I suffer from it as well.
Please give me feedback on this, maybe we can even learn a few things that we did not know.
