I have generally suggested that all preteen use of computers be done in common areas like the family room/den. This local can also be used when teens misuse their private computers..they get regalated back to pre teen times...
Computers are literally fantastic tools for emersing oneself into the world. But it's misuse can dictate consequences a child cannot forsee.
