I dunno who posted this and I know this is an old thread, but thought I'd say that I don't like Dr. Phil as a rule, #1. And #2, from reading this board, I get the sense that hearing voices and seeing things that aren't there are somewhat rare in bipolar. I experience them, but I am bipolar I. It also took many years to be diagnosed correctly for me. I was always told I was depressed, even though right along I had hallucinations and other symptoms! Probably, Dr. Phil just wanted to use extreme cases as examples to make a "good show".
