Get over yourself? Why say such a thing? What horrible experiences you have to suffer through...you deserve much better, and you always have to keep that in mind.

If/when you have the strength, you really should look into doing something to rectify your living situation. Even if you want to help your Dad, it seems pretty clear that you're in a toxic environment. Seriously, perhaps you don't realize how bad it is, but from your descriptions, it's really really bad.

Many of us are lucky to live in a world where moving away from such a home life is possible...there are many routes to do so, all leading to much richer, happier lives.

You're better than what you're living through. Never forget that.
