There's an expression about "truth is stranger than fiction". Well I'd have to say that if the woman was able to resolve her DID issues in just 3 years that she probably had a "simple" case of DID and/or she had a very experienced therapist to help her - or there was a lot they did not tell about.
I've been told that my DID issues are "complex" and it is 14 years and still counting for me in therapy. Now, to be fair to me the T helping me had not ever helped someone like me before she began helping me. The fact that my spouse is non-supportive to my issues, my own fear plus the fact that i was a practicing pain-pill addict, all slowed down my progress and made things take longer than any of us wish they were taking!!! GRR.
Bottom Line: It takes what it takes! Healing and Recovery are the goals and they happen when they happen. PLease be patient with yourself because impatience and anger slow progress because the alts get afraid and tend to hide or act out. You'll get there, be kind to yourself. hugs
