i have pcos. and what sucks is that i also smoke and have a family history of breast cancer. so im kinda s.o.l. when it comes to hormone treatment etc... the last time i went to my obgyn and got a histerosonogram they told me i had over a dozen cysts in both ovaries and a polyp attached to my uterine lining. i used to have cysts rupture just about every month and it was painful! probably the worst pain ive ever had. I found out I had it when I was 19 and had been complaining to my obgyn since I was 17 of problems but no one took notice until I basically slammed my fist down and said "I have PCOS!" lol.

I know the hardest thing for me has been telling boyfriends about it. Because once you get to 23 or 24 a lot of guys start thinking about marriage and a family. And its been hard for me to talk about it because Im always afraid that they wont want to be with a girl who might not be able to have their children. But theyve been suprisingly supportive.

I dont think she expects you to completely understand what shes going through. But she might just need someone to vent to. Taking on, not only the physical pain, but emotional pain that comes along with that is going to be even harder for a 15 year old just because of all the stress she has to deal with already. Just being there to listen can be a huge help for her, Im sure.

If you ever have any questions about it you can PM me, Ill be glad to help. I hope your friend deals with this situation okay.
