I always have these similar feelings and have been to counseling several times. I think the answer is deep inside you, but you have to be open to it. I think therapy can really help significantly.
Can I ask you a question? What was your father like? I know that I've been told that if your father is not around or, even if he was around but you weren't really close, then you might have a tendency to need a male connection more than others.
