I agree there are many posts of chronic back pain, yet feel if possible a need to find out 'what' is causing the pain and go from there.

I would not trust simple xrays I would suggest to have an MRI and find the source of your pain then as wisewoman said to shop around and find out who or which type of practice or specialist is best for your pain.
