It used to be one could give someone else -anyone else- a hug as a reply. No more.
It was a good way to help newbies to the site begin to show compassion and let others know they care. It was a good way to let someone know you read their post and maybe didn't have any words to say, and let the  do it for you.
Now, those days are gone and one has to add in as many as 3 smileys to say the same thing. Sometimes it looks a bit fake, but please know that it's not our fault. We all have to do that, or the message of how our reply isn't long enough comes back with an unsent reply. 
I miss those days already, don't you?
