I just googled for "clomipramine tinnitus", since I have tinnitus (it appeared out of the blue three years ago). Guess what? Clomipramine can cause tinnitus! I mentioned my tinnitus to my new doctor, but he didn't make the connection with clomipramine. At least four doctors have had the opportunity to spot this.

Back to my toes and fingers going numb, mentalhealth.com also says "peripheral neuropathy has been reported with other tricyclic antidepressants" as well - so it's not such a unique event after all. That web goes on to list other side effects I've had, and says clomipramine shouldn't be taken with thyroid medicine, which my sister does.
