There is a hereditary disorder called HHT that can cause nosebleeds.
The blood vessels and arteries form a direct connection due to missing capillaries and that causes the bleeds. In the nose, these very small areas called telangectasia form, but usually the nosebleeds can be helped. However, other organs can be involved, it can also cause bleeds in other parts of the body. You can look it up at
www.hht.org.
My H and 3 sons all have this disorder. They all get nosebleeds which we can deal with but youngest son had a brain AVM and had to have brain surgery. Thankfully, he is ok now.
Those of you who have nosebleeds should check it out.
Also, to treat the nosebleeds apply direct pressure. Don't put your head back as it only causes the blood to drip down your throat. Ice may help as well. There is a product on the market called Nasal Cease or Urgent QR. It is a powder that stops the bleed as soon as you apply it to the area that is bleeding.
Using a humidifier helps as well as saline spray drops and some say Afrin helps too. You can even apply some aquaphor to keep the area moist.
Good luck.
Peaceout
