Would it bother you if you found out that you were your t's longest-running patient? Since I have been seeing her for 9 years, I recently started wondering if she has had other patients in treatment this long, so I asked her. Turns out I'm the longest-running patient she's ever had. I don't know if it makes me feel special, or if it makes me feel. . . well. . . that I must be terribly screwed up to be in therapy this long.
