It appears to me that this argument is strictly posed to impeach those of a religious bent. Most of those who are of strong faith do live out their faith in their daily lives, without confrontations. These are the people one might not even realize how strong their faith in God is, because one doesn't suspect them and thus doesn't misjudge them for their acts of kindnesses.
To judge an entire population based upon the extremes is less than admirable.
There is no scientific basis for supposing that morality is an evolutionary product. One must have a foundation for right and wrong before any concept of morality can be formed. With evolution, it is based by faith on the idea of survival of the fittest and has nothing to do with getting along. For that, it's all about eating your enemy.
Please let's not begin bashing those of faith just because it's Christmas time again. This is a mental health support site, and that includes support for those who do have faith and rely upon it to get them through the stressful holidays.
