here's what you prolly need to do...
goto the windows menu and select 'add or remove programs.'
remove the AV program correctly.
goto the startup menu and remove the bugger that's there and asking for money.
adaware is definitely capable of finding spyware. this is something that you actually installed however. when using adaware make sure your spyware definitions are up-to-date.
if you feel certain that you've been compromised then i encourage you to set up a software firewall so you can find out which applications among the ones installed on your machine are sending out data over the internet and purge the villianous ones.
