Thanks, everyone. Based on the responses here, I've decided (for the time being, anyway) to continue giving the library 10 cents a page. I rarely need to print more than $1 worth at a time anyway.

Printer ink has always been outrageous. Almost everything I do anymore, whether actual work or looking for work, sending apps, etc, is required to be done online. It just would be convenient, when it's 20 degrees and there's a foot of snow on the ground, to have one at home. But it's certainly not a necessity at this point. I appreciate all the tips, though -- if I ever do get around to buying myself one, I'll keep them in mind.
