pyramidgirl, it can be more difficult for some people to communicate than others. Talk to your husband, and see how receptive he is to being more communicative. But you may have to find a compromise. This may sound silly, but my mother used to give me pre-addressed postcards to send back to her from college, sometimes even with printed questions, so all I had to do was check them off and send them back. She would have liked more personal letters, but this was at least something she knew I would get done in my busy college-girl lifestyle.

I'm not saying that is the right solution for you, but if he is not naturally communicative, you may need to find something that still lets you feel his presence that he can actually fulfill.
