MVP is a thickening of the mitral valve, regurg is a backflow of blood into the left atria. (short and not very technical answer. Obviously there's more to them than that, but that's a short summary.) MVP symptoms are palpitations (feeling your heartbeat) and occassional skipped beats. Regurg is shortness of breath and arryhthmias.
