I certainly take the nurture side of the argument in this matter.

What is a man?

It is a question asked ever since such roles were formed (most likely very quickly at the dawn of humanity).

There seems to be no true answer here, as the definition of a man and what he is supposed to do in any likely given situation is far too encompassing.

Some people would claim that we are risk-takers, aggressive, protecting; others would claim that we are calculating, logical, impassive.

These contradict one another, however.

It really matters only to yourself. I often wonder what the optimal way of acting would be, but if we took this route, then we would contradict ourselves often and feel like "phonies," like we never stood up for anything in our lives. What's better? I don't know.
Thanks for this!
