I think it might be because the album you tried creating/uploading to had quotes in its title, which unfortunately may have confused the software. Try it now (I edited the category to remove the quotes) and/or try uploading to a new album using no special characters.

Also, every member has another photo album under their 'My Profile' option. You might try using that one if this one continues giving you trouble.
