Maybe try a new nighttime ritual, I do...whenever I get into that 'can't sleep zone', I make up a new nightime ritual.

Right now mine consists of a warm shower (got a new shower filter so the water is practically pure, a very safe feeling for me, plus your hair and skin feels great afterwards)...then the toasty warm pj's out of the dryer, follow?

Onto a softly lit bedroom where I have my every morning made bed turned down, with some books, and 2 remotes, a glass of filtered water (I know, lol) and a clementine or something... and hand cream and body lotion, right?

I play around with the tv for about 15 minutes, till I'm settled down with a book, and feel all soft, then I take other remote, and after shutting of tv, play one of my tapes...not any artist, but a guided imagery tape, some have subliminals in the music or ocean wave sounds, or affirmations set to the most relaxing instrumentals... anyway, I try to read till the relaxation exercise starts, well, then it's almost all over, lol.

I sleep so well. If I wake up, I just start the tape again, fall out. Again, same thing.

That's my ritual, so even if I stay up late, like now, whether I have some symptoms or I'm just uneasy or nervous, I know when I go downstairs, this is 'my deal' and I do it... tonight I'm taking down some warm herbal tea with me.

Also, don't drink or take anything stimulating after a certain time... cut yourself off so that you can sleep! Some people can not drink coffee after 12 noon, or take anything with stimulating effects. So, watch what you are eating and drinking come afternoon. Easy on sugar too.
