i think maybe the first thing to do is offer comfort, non-verbal rocking , patting her back, offering hugs and touches that just make her/him feel better. allow some time to just be upset and then when she's calming down ASK if she's able to talk about it now. if she says no you can offer paper and allow her to draw about what is upsetting her. the suggestion about using two bears as substitutes talking to each other could be a "safe" way to talk about what is going on.

i would guess that maybe some memories are coming up in body or in mind. there is sometimes fighting or power struggles between different alts. maybe she is lonely...

the other posters wrote good ideas and maybe you can find something among all of them that will help your little one and help you too.

ummm, don't take this the wrong way, but be sure that your objective is to actually help the little, not just get her to be quiet. i don't mean to be accusational, it's just i've been a mom and sometimes i just wanted some peace and quiet and it became hard to care what was going on, i just wanted it to stop. hugs,
