My T and I work on intimacy, he once told me something like we need to work on me getting comfy with intimacy like a husband and wife....So now I call him husband. Sometimes I'll say "go get a beer and watch some football husband".

The patient's job is to repeat in the therapy all the stuff that has been disastrous before. The T's job is to not let it happen, but to point out how it is happening.
