Transvestite is no longer the appropriate term to describe someone who enjoys dressing in the opposite gender. The appropriate term used today is crossdresser. Crossdressers enjoy dressing in the opposite gender, but do not desire to change their gender. They are comfortable in their born gender. Transsexuals are people who desire to be the opposite gender in all aspects (mentally and physically) and accomplish the means through hormones and/or surgery.
