the only real issue that we still have with Mother, who is now 85, is whether she really knew the dirty deeds were going on or if she didn't. After we told her what *he* was doing she said she would have killed him if she had known but we don't quite believe her. We lived in a 900 sq ft house and our bedrooms were back to back. Where did she THINK *he* was in the wee hours of the morning??
But....we will never know the truth about whether she knew or didn't and somehow, through therapy, we are coming to the place that it doesn't matter. we are learning to forgive regardless.
