It might not be 'that bad' right now, but if you leave it things might get worse. I'm not saying they will, but it's something worth thinking about, right? In other words, I'm glad you posted now and I hope you keep reaching out to try and deal with this sooner.
you said that you're not going to go into detail about these thoughts, but perhaps talking through these thoughts with someone you trust could help. Maybe it is something in the thoughts that are causing you to bite. If you don't feel able to talk to someone about them, writing them down for yourself could also help, even if it's to get them out of your head and onto paper.
