Emotions/feelings are strange things...we have far less control over them than we would like to think. I feel for you,,,I too was in Love once,,,very much so,,,but it was a tragedy unfolding....and Love wasn't enough to fix all that had to be fixed....

I hardly ever use the word never...but I will risk it here...Your Love with this man will never work without the foundation of honesty....with each other and with all others in your worlds. Like oil and water,,,dishonesty and Love...they simply cannot mix....and most often the result of trying is shame..deep shame.

I wish I had better news for you...it is so very hard to want Love to conquer all....
