Well the community is glad that you posted. One of the biggest things that get in the way is shame, or fear of judgment or insecurity. I think most of us deal with that when we do and feel in a way that is a little different then others. But you're not alone in dealing with emotional turbulence with physical pain. Sometimes self injury is just a temporary thing but sometimes a person can become more and more comfortable with the pain and more dependent on it and can escalate. If you feel like it is becoming dangerous then please take more aggressive means to talk to someone or find help. Take care of yourself and let us know if there is anything more we can do.
