Oh my, another year, whoopee. Neighbors on the street already beginning to celebrate with fire works.

One after another the years roll by. Nothing changes yet nothing stays the same. Probably the best part is the time until my death is shorter than the years I have lived.

They just spoke of the difference in how a person looks at New Years. The optimist stays up to see the new year in. The pessimist stays up to make sure the old year leaves.

Going through the motions but not alive. Playing games, sewing, pulling weeds, shopping regardless of the activity the tears creep in. One minute enjoying the distraction the next tears streaming down my cheeks.

Do something, anything to keep the thoughts at bay. With enough pills to shut the brain down and grasp a few hours sleep before the cycle begins again. I have no wish to see the new year. My only desire is to have it all end.
