Sorry for continuing to post on this subject, but it is a major landmark for me to go off this medication after taking it for 17 years, and I thought it might be beneficial for anyone contemplating weaning off to share my exp here.
This past week, off from work from my teaching job, was the time, if there ever was a good time, to go off it completely, since I had been weaning off the Paxil for two years now, as I stated in the previous thread I posted. Even with the small "granules" I had been taking, cutting the 20mg tabs into 4ths or 5ths, and as small as I could for about a month, going off it completely was still hard, with side effects.
I've spent the week without it pretty much non-funcitional, experiencing dizziness, and bouts of irrational thoughts and "brain zaps" in the form of adrenalin-like rushes. Those, now, seem to be gone. Little to no dizziness, few to no brain rushes, and my thought processes are more stable and optimistic.
Love
Patty
