Hi, I had a manic episode at the end of last year which resulted in hospitalisation. I saw auras around trees, I saw all the molecules and atoms that I was made from form and fall apart in front of my eyes, I wrote 2000 word essays in 6 hours( and got pretty good marks surprisingly!) - I was at uni doing science degree, I submitted reports regarding the entire training and code of conduct restructure of a govn. dept in the hospital I worked in to senior management( they politely said that even though it was workable in theory, It needed to be modified to fit the ethos of ALL of QLD Health statewide. At least they were polite!), I did not sleep or eat for about 3 weeks and attempted to solve environmental issues with quantum theory.
Pretty cool had it not had such a horrible fallout! Once I came down from it, I was sick for weeks, my appetite has never returned and the depression was horrific. I was on lithium and antipsychotic but just on lithium now. My doc has since found thyroid and adrenal problems so they are being sorted. I think mania a bit different with everyone but I have good psychiatrist and psychologist so it helps. I was diagnosed BP type 2.
