Bebe...I hope you realize that any civil communication you receive from this man is probably only because he owes you money, and he's trying to placate you.
You can and will, I feel, hear only what you want to hear regarding advice, but the best and most self-respecting thing you can do is to let it go, stop contacting him, and get on with your life.
IF you want to file a police report and try to get your money back, that may help, but continuing communication with him is just futile.
