If you live at home, you are legally covered under your parents health insurance until you are 19. If you are a full time student you are probably covered beyond that--to age 25. As an 18-year old you are an adult and you are entitled to call the insurance company on your own and ask for a card without your parent's permission. You can call and ask about mental health coverage. And, you can request privacy from your parents. They don't have to now about the call.

If you don't want to go through insurance you will have to get a part time job to pay for therapy.

Good luck.

Well I do have a part time job at the moment but that isn't the problem I have insurance my parents ( in the US for some reason I'm thinking you live in Canada sorry if I'm wrong) and it covers me up until age 25......but all in all even if I had to pay for it with a job there is no way I'd have to quit therapy because I only get 40 hours every 2 weeks maybe less this semester ( i work at the college ) and well, yes I could get another job but around my area 2 things....1. No one will work around a students schedule, and 2. If they did (i've looked into it) it would only be 10 hours a week 20 total for 2 weeks...after car payment, food(i have to have lunch mom buys nothing for me to take, and if i did i may as well buy Mcdonalds)....but all in all I'm just worried about my session.
