Depression is depression no matter the source. It is important to seek help regardless of the reason and the earlier the better. You might want to request to see a therapist as there are usually underlying causes with relationship issues that shouldn't just be treated with medications which just treat the symptom. And, it could be that the therapist doesn't feel that therapy is needed, but check it out just to be sure, so that it doesn't become a bigger problem especially if you've had depression before.
