I am one to say sorry pretty quickly as well. It can mean more than just one's fault though. In response to someone saying I am upset or sick, I usually say I'm so sorry. A lot of people respond back and say, it's not your fault, but what I'm saying is that I'm sorry you are sick or I'm sorry you're upset, not to take blame, but to show sympathy.

As a dissociative, it can be hard for sure. Because there is only one body and one brain, whatever is said or done by me, regardless as to whether or not I remember, I am responsible for it. I want to say sorry because I don't want to hurt people intentionally or otherwise. While I might not be able to stop people from being hurt at times, I can do what I can to make amends and just keep working on self to get more awareness.

It's a slow process and it's hard, but it's possible. Hang in there Genn.
