wow, I just reread your post about your cookbooks arriving in 4 weeks...4 weeks?

there are cooking sites that I use for diabetic recipes
eatingwell.com
(dinner made easy) bettycrocker.com
allrecipes.com

all three have some very good recipes for diabetics and for heart healthy...some are really quite good and others are really quite yucky.
I like to use my slow cooker so I've adapted some of them.
Cook once but eat three times 'cause I'm lazy...the reason I have a large slow cooker. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge, taken out and heated up--in the same pot. If there's any left after the second serving, I put it in a microwave safe container and cook the final portion then.
Gee, I'm lazy about cooking now!

those are the three I like best; however I think the Diabetes foundation may have more recipes.

It did take me a few weeks to get used to less sugar!
Honestly? I craved sugar just like I did when I was getting clean and sober...'course alcohol is converted to sugar so there is a connection (simple explanation)
The only artificial sweetener I can tolerate is sweet&low...the others make it impossible for anyone to be in a closed room with me

Like anything else, it takes a wee bit of getting used to...
my biggest surprise was I dropped about 12lbs within 3 weeks just from cutting out legal coke and other sugary drinks.

Ramble, ramble from this old bag
but I didn't want you to wait on those cooking books

My very best wishes,
Cap
