I think with the advancement of science it is not perposterous to think that at some point in the future we will look for cures to perfection..

It is a long and sometimes tedious read but Ray Kurzweil's.."The Singularity is Near" is a peek at the future with the past as his guide...

He also wrote "The Age of Spiritual Machines"..concerning the profund potential of the "chip" in its many potential manefestations...

His books are not weekend reads but explorations into the readers personal belief systems as he offers possibilites well researched and documented..
