Stumpy,
I am so sorry you are such a fount of knowledge on concusions from growing up in an abusive household.
We tried to help an older child, who was 12, by adopting her nine years ago. She came from a similar environment.
I'm sorry you suffered a broken ankle from an encounter with your dog. Missy ran around my ankles with her lead, and then took off. I went down like a large tree. I'm still trying to get my ankle straightened out.
The EMT people who came to get me that day were really great!!

not a nurse but was an emt for about 12 years in a past life as well as well an athletic trainer...plus the parents from hell liked to throw me around when i was little so i got lots of experience crashing head first into things..i've lost track of how many actual concussions i've had! i've broken so many bones and stuff i tell my dr that if i die and lose my head at leas tthey'll be able to identify me pretty easily since i should glow from all the radiation!
take care of that head...you only get one and iffen (oops basset owrd...sorry..you didn't know they had their own language...yep they are a scary breed..hey they have rescue fund raisers called waddles where over 800 (in ocean city nj)bassets and their owners participate in a "doo dah parade"...and thousands come out to line the streets and cheer them on..its tons of fun and the start of the basset social season as events are held all across the country)you damage it heads are slow to heal...
trust me..i spent last year heavily overmedicated and lost over 10 months of memory and suffered some cognitive damage...so be kind to yer noggin woman...or i'll send the urban basset after you! and trust me you don't want that.
