I think the reason that was happening was because the system saw you as idle for too long a time and automatically signed you out. If you wish to remain logged in until you physically log yourself out, you must tick the box next to your log in name that says "Remember Me". That way the system will not auto log you out after a certain length of time. It helps too if you are making a long post/pm to someone and you go to send it....woops...logged out and it's lost
