With Autistic Spectrum Disordors there is difficulty in communication and an inability to read others emotions, and there is usually much anxiety associated with it. It should have been picked up at school but it may be that you are on the mild end of the spectrum. Saying all that it can be difficult to diagnose when someone has anxiety, depression or other issues going on at the same time.
