Well, I started 3 social groups and am thinking about removing 2 of them, as no one goes there!
It seems to me that they do not stand out as much as forums do, and a lot of them have petered out very quickly, as you see from browsing through the list of groups.
The format to post doesn't have as many "bells and whistles" as threads/PM's. It's like one, long continuous thread.
That's my 2 cents.
