Last night I spilled a glass of water all over my laptop. It seemed to turn itself off a few seconds after it happened. I wiped up all the water and shook as much water as I could out of the laptop, then I turned up the radiator to high to warm up the air and then decided that i would let it dry for a few hours before starting it up. things dry quickly in my room usually, since it is always so warm (about 78f/23c).
So... four hours later, I decide to try the laptop again. It seems like it will work since lights which show the AC adaptor is connected is glowing. So I switch on the power button, and nothing happens. then i see that the light of my alarm clock, which is on the same plug as my laptop, has gone out. the fuse has blown. so i re-set the fuse thing and now my alarm clock works but the laptop definitely doesn't. there are no lights glowing there anymore. it doesn't respond to the power button being pressed. i picked it up this morning to see if there was some kind of button i could press to restart it. there isn't, but a couple of drops of water dripped out of the laptop. it's still wet more than 12 hours on.
so... have i just broken it? did it short-circuit? is there any way to get it working again?
