mellors, i'm afraid that the water will have damaged the hard disk. i did a quick search earlier and it says it only takes seconds for the hard disk to be damaged... though i did act pretty quickly, i'm not sure if i acted quickly enough. the fact that the laptop's no longer showing any signs of life is a bit disencouraging.
