I'm just wondering what people's experience was like with it. Did it work? Did you like the food? Did it involve a ton of cooking? Anything else you can think of?
Thanks.

Splitimage, I did start the South Beach Diet in Feb 2006 after being on several wt gaining psych meds....I lost 40 pounds in just at 4 months !!! The diet combined with walking 3 to 4 days a week about a 3 miles a day (gradually built up to 3, lol, didn't start out with that) burned the weight away !!! My older sister who was unable to walk as much as myself lost approx 30 in the same period (we started the diet together).
The food is appetizing and not difficult to prepare. The thing I liked most is, the food are those foods you would usually have in your home. you don't have to shop for alot of unusual food items you would not normally eat or keep in you frig or cabinets. The SB cookbook is great and offers some variety in the diet.
The weight stayed off until Aug of this year when I had an acute medical problem that landed me on IV steroid for 2 wks followed by a month of oral steroid....also in intensive care for 2 weeks being pumped full of IV nutrition which is pumped full of calorie goodness, lol. I plan on restarting the SB diet as soon as released by my doctors to undo all that this episode has done.
Good luck!!!!!!
