Mental Illness is considered a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act. This is a federal law, so it should usurp anything that the employer says about state law.
JWriter, you may want to look this up on the web, and inform your boss that he is violating the Americans with Disabilities Act by not providing you reasonable accomodations for your disability.
