I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOUUUUUU!!!!
and the pics were gorgeous!!! no wonder you picked this trail first!!!! i assume that was you in the pic. i live in fla. so it's hard to imagine snow on the ground right now.
you mentioned you feel more depressed in winter. i did too. my docs called it light deprivation. there are special llights you can purchase to assist this not happening to you. are u aware of that? not too pricy and it's worth it if you suffer in winter. getting out in the daylight helps too. but the special lights really help and you don't have to sit there all day for them to work.
i couldn't believe how much i agree with your comments about the news..etc!! my therapist suggested i just not watch it. he was right, just me, cause it kept me stirred up and depressed. i worry enough about what our world is coming to and concerned about my grandchildrens' future because of it.
now i watch discovery, history, animal planet channels or a good wholesome movie. i do watch c-net sometimes to see what washington is doing but that's about it. i don't want to ignore all that goes on. i just limit my intake. it might help you too so thought i'd pass that on to you.
so happy for you...you got out!!!next time will be easier...and so on..just try to do it regularly. it makes it much simpler. even if it's just for a short walk.
keep us posted, k?
