Bummer Pegasus!

It's definitely an inner ear thing. Whether it is an allergy, or due to the TMJ misbehaving (or both) only you are going to be able to determine.

I would suspect if it's allergy that it's a particular ingredient in the kitkat that you find in a few other forgettable items. Maybe time to make note of the ingredients first?

If it's crunchy foods, then a dentist who specializes in TMJ disorders (known as TMD here) will help you prevent further damage to the joint. A physical therapist can help too, should it be the TMJs.

These types of issues are rarely easy to figure out. I mean, who's to say that when you eat a kitkat you do so because you are stressed out and due to the stress you don't sleep well and grind your teeth which in turn causes the tinitus? DOH!

At least I know what caused mine... the industrial accident. I have constant tinitus in one ear causing hearing loss. The other ear just doesn't hear well, due to the same accident. (What I have is called Menierre's though.)

If giving up one food item will prevent this, I think I'd do it eagerly!
Feel better soon.
