My boyfriend and I waited four months. He said it first, and I think he wanted to wait until he could say it in person. Actually, even though it had been four months, I still really freaked out. (Mostly about whether or not I loved him and if I was lying when I did say it back; silly stuff). But then, I knew someone who had said "I love you" to their SO after only two weeks.

Since you say you guys are so alike, I wouldn't be suprised if he's having the same debate in his head. But, I agree with BalishBun, and you should wait a little longer (maybe get a little further away from your previous long term relationship?). Let us know how it turns out!
