SI is for a reason. You're under a lot of stress, something else is making you need to cope somehow... and this is how you learned to deal with life... I'm sorry that it is that way.
Ranting is good, because it's another , different way to get out what you're feeling.
SI DOES give temporary relief from a situation, but it causes more issues later x.x x.x x.x
Try your very best to reduce the SI'ing, go out with friends when you start to feel triggered, anything... try to find other ways of dealing with tough situation.
I know this didn't help much. But, sending hugs, and knowing you can work it ou, given time. Please be willing to give yourself that needed time
