Sheila, for years I thought I was manic..and every time I would bring it up, the doctors would say what they said to you....Well, recently I was lucky enough to see a psychiatrist and she diagnosed me and I'm on meds and boy, am I a different person!! The meds worked on me, without a bunch of trials and I'm sleeping, eating and acting normal....please, please make an appointment with a psychiatrist.....ask people for recommendations or call the board that governs them in Illinois. Get one that has a very active practice...I sincerely believe that we need to consult a psych doc when we have symptoms like you have....xoxox pat
